My portrait of the amazing Judy Garland, born Frances Ethel Gumm, is based on a live performance from one of her many TV performances.  She had a truly unique voice that was as fragile as it was powerful.  Whether she was acting or singing she gave everything.  

All of her personal trauma spills out in her music and really informs her performances.  It is hard to separate the art from biography in many cases where narratives echo her life.
