Keith Floyd was a popular TV chef here in the UK.  His chaotic style, fuelled by lots of wine, was original and exhilarating.  His attempts to demystify gourmet cooking inspired ordinary home cooks to try new things and brought chefs out of their traditional kitchens to more exciting locations. He was often seen flombeing on the bow of a fishing trawler in a choppy sea or casually cooking a beef rendang on a barge in Phuket.  

His penchant for booze and fags lead to many failed businesses and his health suffered, leading to his death in 2009 .  His charm and charisma won the hearts of the British Public and his shows still feature heavily on food programs.
